Every night we stay in good quality rooms with ensuites. We get to enjoy hot showers, chef-prepared dinners and breakfasts, and most importantly enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep every night.
We stay five nights at Glen Helen Lodge, the only accommodation located within the Tjoritja – West MacDonnell Ranges National Park, 130km west of Alice Springs. This extraordinary landscape is 800 million years old and has been home to the Western Aranda Aboriginal people for tens of thousands of years. We get to enjoy the comfort provided by the lodge with Glen Helen Gorge and the national park right at your doorstep. Importantly, the lodge is owned and now also run by the traditional owners with some assistance, which means by staying here we are supporting the local people.
The lodge, partly an old homestead, reflects the region’s character and is in an amazing location, offering up great views including sunsets like no other over the West MacDonnell Ranges.
The Mercure Hotel is our accommodation in Alice Springs and is in an excellent location, where you can relax either by the pool, in the garden or in the many other facilities that it offers.
All of the two-course dinners are prepared by the in-house chefs. There’s an emphasis on Australian game meat, top end fish, tropical fruit and bushtucker.
The breakfasts each morning and the packed lunches/picnics complete the circle ensuring that your appetite is always satisfied. In fact, you can look forward to having lunch at some of the most incredible locations on the Larapinta Trail. A walkers lunch may include a high protein type salad, a roll or a wrap, a muesli bar, cake or muffin of some kind, plus a piece of fruit. Each day is slightly different.
Alcohol or drinks with meals are not included (except tea/coffee and juice with breakfast).

“Just did Larapinta trail walk.
Great trip although tougher than I expected, you need to train for this one.
Our guides were Beck and Kat and they went above and beyond for all people on our trek 14 plus 2 guides.
Kats knowledge of Larapinta and the geology of the area was outstanding,
Highlight of trek was early start and trekking in the dark with head torches up to Mt Sonder.
Glen Helen station was great don’t expect 5 star when your there but clean, comfy, great meals and bar, fire each night if we wanted or were able to stay awake for.
Thanks Stroll for a great and memorable trip.”

The Larapinta trail walk with Stroll was fantastic. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and organised (yet flexible when required). We really felt like they cared about us and our experience. The accommodation was relatively basic but adequate (and more comfortable for us than camping!) and the view from the rooms was amazing!
I recommend getting fit before going and breaking in boots and socks, so you can enjoy it as much as possible.
I would go on another Stroll.

We organized a private group to walk larapinta and had an amazing time. All staff were fabulous-From the organization with Tash to the wonderful fun, supportive guides Bec and Katie. I thoroughly recommend this trip

The guides (Katie and Bec) went the extra mile – and then some – to ensure guests had a great time walking and an overall amazing experience. Second time with Stroll and definitely want to go again. Highly recommended.

It was a large group of 15 walkers accompanied by 2 very experienced guides who walked together in early July. We both just loved the whole experience, fit and fabulous fellow walkers, hard working and knowledgeable guides and then there was the splendor, gorges, flora, views, wildness. Relaxing and invigorating.

We have just completed the 7 day Larapinta Trail with Stroll. The weather was fantastic, the scenery beautiful and varied and the walk offered just the right amount of challenge. Our guides Kat and Bec worked tirelessly to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves and were informative, punctual and very caring. I highly recommend Stroll and look forward to walking with them again in the near future.
