OVERVIEW

The Bibbulmun Track from Walpole to Denmark showcases the incredible biodiversity of Western Australia and the uniqueness of this region.  Daily close encounters with towering forests of Karri, Tingle, Jarrah and Marri trees, mist-shrouded valleys and giant granite boulders are common.

There are stacks of secluded coves, pristine beaches and gorgeous coastal heathland to explore. We’ve designed the walk to take in the diversity of landscape that this region is renowned for. Note: we have avoided walking on the beach sections. The track follows the cliff tops, via the stunning forest and includes many elevated vantage points like Monkey Rock.

This is a truly pristine wilderness, combining stunning coastal scenery and endemic flora and fauna. If you have time why not tack a day on at Denmark and sample some of the wines from what is deemed to be one of the best wine growing regions in Australia. It’s certainly one of the prettiest.

ACCOMMODATION & DINING

We have worked with our accommodation suppliers on this walk for decades and they love to host our walkers. They also often provide the meals so it works nicely. Even though it’s remote it’s still the first world, so please be assured your comfort is more than looked after. Denmark is one of the most attractive wine growing and making regions in Australia so maybe keep some room at the end of the walk. They are invested in making each days departure and arrival as smooth as possible. The accommodation each night is in remote cottages, lodges and a motel. All of the accommodations are in locations that showcase the region, they’re welcoming and offer an excellent place to rest and unwind. As always the rooms have their own ensuite.

The two-course dinners and cooked breakfasts are all plentiful, with an emphasis on organic and regional food. Whilst you are walking you will be provided with an excellent Walkers Lunch and what’s more, you’ll get to eat it at some fabulous location on the Bibbulmun Track. A Walkers Lunch can be varied and can include a protein type salad, a sandwich or a wrap, muesli bar, cake or slice and a piece of fruit.

Alcohol or drinks with meals are not included (except tea/coffee and juice with breakfast).

GENERAL INFO

It is possible to catch public transport to the start of the walk-in Walpole. We will get you back to Walpole if you have a vehicle. The walking is mainly on flat well-defined tracks. Some of the tracks are a bit sandy. You will walk on average 20kms a day through diverse landscapes that only the Bibbulmun can offer. We provide a Bibbulmun Track map however you will find the comprehensive notes more than enough to easily find your way.  This is a great opportunity for walkers to challenge themselves a bit.

September to November is great for walking this track and there are lots of wildflowers about. Summer can be quite warm then it cools down by March. Autumn is also brilliant for walking in this area. This trip is available all year round, but in the winter months between June to August, there can be prolonged wet spells making walking more challenging.
