Overview

The Tasman Peninsula sits just 90 minutes from Hobart, but it feels like the end of the earth. Ancient dolerite sea cliffs, the highest in Australia, rise sheer from the Southern Ocean at Cape Raoul and Cape Hauy, and the scale of them is genuinely hard to believe until you're standing at the edge. The walking threads through tall eucalypt forest and coastal heathland before the clifftops open to views that stop you mid-stride. Fortescue Bay offers a rare moment of calm: white sand, turquoise water, the feeling of having earned it. Whales, dolphins, and sea eagles are regular companions. The World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site adds a layer of history that deepens the whole experience. Small wonder this is Stroll's most popular walk.
