Best of Tour du Mont Blanc: Tre le Champ to Courmayeur - 9 Days

OverviewOverview
Trek the southern section of the Tour du Mont Blanc, from Chamonix in France to the Italian mountain town of Courmayeur. The walk begins with a great traverse from Les Flegeres via Les Houches, then passes below the Bionnassay Glacier to the Refuge de Miage and on to the charming town of Les Contamines.
From there, the route crosses the Col du Bonhomme to the small village of Les Chapieux, before heading over the Italian border via the Col de la Seigne. The jagged peaks of the southern Mont Blanc Massif open up ahead, with the descent into Courmayeur a worthy finish. The final day above the Val Ferret brings sweeping views of glaciers, snowy summits, and forested valleys.
Please note: additional transfer fees may apply if regular accommodation is unavailable for a preferred departure date. If this occurs, the cost will be confirmed before booking is finalised. Walkers who choose to cancel as a result will receive a full deposit refund.

Where You'll Stay
During this tour, you will stay in three-star hotels and auberges, mountain properties that sit naturally within the landscape of the Tour du Mont Blanc and deliver exactly what you need after a demanding day on the trail. All are well used to receiving trekkers and properly equipped for the conditions. Eight nights are spent in private rooms with en-suite facilities throughout, so there is no need to carry a sleep sheet or towel as you would for mountain hut stays. As many overnight stops fall in smaller villages and towns, alternative accommodation of equivalent standard may occasionally be necessary. Any such options will be discussed with you during the booking process.
What You'll Eat
Eight breakfasts and two dinners are included throughout the trip. In many of the smaller properties, dining is at communal tables with set mealtimes, a practical arrangement that ensures everyone is well fed after a long day on the trail and one that often leads to good conversation. Lunch is best picked up locally, and the towns and villages along this route are known for their specialty cheeses and meats, many still produced by hand. A local farmers' market along the way is well worth stopping for, and some properties can also prepare a picnic lunch on request. A particular highlight is the Beaufort cheese from La Vallée des Glaciers, available fresh from the farm. Detailed suggestions for where to buy lunch each day are included in your daily walk notes.
Note: Please advise us of any food allergies or intolerances at the time of booking. If you have severe allergies, bringing some of your own snacks is recommended, as specialist ingredients can be harder to source in the mountains.
