All arrangements worked out fine and it was a great trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our hiking of the Italian Lakes. We noticed Stroll hikers when we were doing the Kumono Kodo walk last year, hence booked with you. All the arrangements were excellent and we can highly recommend Stroll as great value for money.

Overview
The Italian Lakes have been drawing travellers for centuries, and on foot is still the finest way to experience them. Lake Como, often called the jewel of the Italian lakes, sets the tone from the start. Trails wind through olive groves and vineyards above the water, passing the sumptuous gardens of Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello and Villa Melzi, while ferries connect the lakefront villages of Bellagio, Varenna and Lenno in between walking days.
Lake Maggiore offers a different but equally compelling character. Ancient mule paths lead through medieval villages like Carmine Superiore, panoramic trails trace the hillsides above the water and the fairy-tale Borromean Islands, with their baroque palaces and botanical gardens, make for one of the most memorable days in northern Italy.
The walking here suits a broad range of abilities, with mostly gentle terrain and lake views at every turn. The Alps provide a dramatic backdrop throughout, and the combination of history, gardens, good food and shimmering water makes this one of the most quietly rewarding walking destinations in Europe.

The Lake Como & Maggiore experience
Lake Como & Maggiore reviews
We enjoyed the hotels - they were unique, very clean and comfortable. Also, they were away from the crowds. The weather was unseasonally hot, and we discovered air conditioners frequently do not work. Breakfasts were great. Lenno was the perfect spot to stay for hiking.
Lovely, straightforward walks. We moved the walks around to suit the (rainy!) weather without any problems with the ferry vouchers. Recommend the Orrido in Bellagio - very impressive (probably due to the rain!). Lenno doesn't have too many eating options for dinner, although we found the nearby Golfo bar/restaurant to be very good, and open all day (the service got much friendlier after our 2nd visit!).
